META-FLEET’s flagship product, The Blue BAUX™ (Binary Aircraft Usage eXaminer), represents a new class of aircraft Usage Monitoring Systems (UMS) that captures and analyzes flight data to produce accurate usage information,  resulting in more effective fleet life-cycle management.

The industry’s first unobtrusive UMS, the META-FLEET Blue BAUX™, is point-designed to fully and cost-effectively address Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules Service Bulletin 82-788 usage monitoring requirements.

The BAUX™ system consists of an onboard rugged, RTCA/DO-160D and MIL-STD-461E-compliant notebook computer mounted at the navigator's station, as well as a ground-based database application. The onboard notebook computer receives relevant flight parameters through the standalone Blue BAUX™ USB peripheral LRU, which features GPS technology. Periodically, technicians will upload the collected flight data to the ground-based BAUX Office™ database application, which calculates severity factors to determine aircraft wing EBH.

META-FLEET's Blue BAUX is a purpose-built, automated onboard data recording system that captures flight-by-flight usage data as it occurs.

Continually Monitors and Updates Aircraft EBH
Automated, continual EBH monitoring enables operators to precisely schedule required Service Bulletin maintenance tasks on individual aircraft, including Widespread Fatigue Damage (WFD) inspections. With the Blue BAUX™, operators can also better anticipate upcoming flight restrictions and more effectively accommodate grounding of time-expired aircraft.

Validates Initial EBH Assessment Assumptions
META-FLEET's Blue BAUX™ validates initial EBH assessments by comparing actual mission usage measured by Blue BAUX™ to historic mission usage assumptions. Using META-FLEET's BAUX Office™ application, fleet managers can rapidly refine initial EBH determinations.

Optimizes Operational Availability with Proactive Maintenance Scheduling
The Blue BAUX™ tracks both flying hours and usage statistics to assist operators and maintenance planners to more accurately plan maintenance activities. This proactive approach maximizes operational availability between Service Bulletin EBH action activities.

Extensibility

With a rugged, flight-worthy notebook computer onboard, the BAUX™ system also provides endless extensibility to operators including:

     • Electronic Flight Bag (Paperless Cockpit) solutions such as digital forms, logbooks,
       operation & maintenance manuals, navigation charts and approach templates
     • Integration with existing aircraft data bus facilitating extraction of additional flight
       information
     • Mission planning, execution and playback such as drop zone management and
       search and rescue pattern coverage confirmation
     • Expandability to include AHRS backup and
     • NVIS configurable with backlit keyboard.
